Dayz Cursed

Today has unfortunately been the buggiest day of all possible days, frustrating beyond belief, and inorder to explain the problem I will need to tell the story of 8 hours of gameplay today. WALL OF TEXT INCOMING!

The day started with a rescue mission for a friend who himself was bugged out yesterday and lost all of his items (including bandages) and spawned bleeding over in the wilderness near Kabanino. Another friend of mine got there first, bandaged him up, gave him his pistol, and we were off to raid the airfield. In the days beforehand I had amassed the best gear I had ever obtained in the past, the M107, bloodbags and medical supplies, a ghillie suit, rangefinder, night vision, grenades, everything that would make me happy. Upon logging in on 1.7.2 patch day the ghillie suit was gone (as was both my aforementioned friends), no biggie, still happy I said and continued playing. The raid of the airfield went off without a hitch, and we stopped for a rest at a barn just east of the center of the airfield. The server we had chosen to log into and raid the airfield was pitch black, and having gotten tired of this, we decided to log off in the barn and log into a new daytime server. Once done we headed out east, and made a stop at Stary Sobor to raid the military tents there. Took our time, and killed a bandit who shot at our friend, then moved north into the woods to log off for a bit for lunch. From this point we had been playing for a few hours, at least 2 since we finished raiding the military base. This is the point when things start going bad.

When logging back in to continue playing, I found myself all the day back at the barn outside of the airfield. I was the first one back, I had some time, so I began to run there. I regrouped with my comrades and we were about to continue onward when the server crashed. Finding another server, I proceed to log in, and find myself again at that barn, only this time I am not alone. Inside the barn are 3 zombies, which did not seem to give a F*** that normally they are supposed to despawn on login, not wanting to attract attention to myself so close to the airbase I decide to make a run for it. It seems they were able to outrun me, as they repeatedly hit me as I tried to make my escape east through the fields. I turned around to fire my Revolver in my hand, at which point I stopped, unable to move as if frozen, and I watched in horror as my character lobbed a grenade at the lowest possible arc in front of me. It exploded, luckily, far enough away to not instantly kill me. I was now unconscious, and bleeding, in the middle of a field. I logged out, and asked my friends to come save me.

After waiting an hour or so for them to come to where I was, I logged in, and got patched up quickly. All except for my hearing, which did not seem to right itself. Thinking a simple log out with fix this, as it had in the past, I logged out and back in. I found myself unconscious, bleeding back where I just was. A call out saved me, and I was patched up again, despite the annoyance of my friends, this time my ears were fixed with a blood transfusion. We moved on, and through the woods heading north, when the server crashed. Logging in I found myself unconscious and bleeding in the same spot I was before. My friends to the rescue again, after finding another server. Getting our bearings, and after some ribbing, we headed north to hit all of the deer stands on the way to the north eastern airfield. Before retching this point we stopped outside of a house to the southwest of Novy Lug, where one of my friends went AFK for awhile, and was eaten alive by zombies because he chose a terrible spot. So we threw his gear into our backpacks, and headed south to meet up with him, a third of the way there the 2 of us spot a unlooted Helicopter crash site, and decided to wait there for him to come to us. It took him 2 hours to get up to us, as we sat through the night by a campfire to keep warm, watching the Helicopter though our scopes to make sure no one would touch our find. We looted it as a trio, and again tired of the pitch black night we decided to switch servers again. I thought my trial was over...

I logged in on this new server to find myself again trapped in the field outside the barn, bleeding and unconscious, each time I spawned with less blood then the time before. My friends, as the dapper chaps they were agreed to come and save me again, for the god knows how many time. We figured that the only way to fix this was to simply let me die, after all this must be something wrong with the Dayz server, why else would my character refuse to save normally, but only save when I am in the throes of death (it was saving constantly as I was unconscious as it saved my blood levels each time BEFORE I got up). So we headed south all the way to the shore to give me a execution by firing squad, so I could run back and return to my body. I am executed on the shore, between Balota and Komarovo, and my body is watched by two guardians. I quickly log off, and log back in, to be greeted with the new character screen. A success I would think, as it did not send me back to the barn from hell. I spawn fresh just east of Balota and head to my body, I am there within minutes. I grab all my gear, and we are off to raid the military base just south of the southern airfield. We shoot up every zombie we can see, killing over a hundred between us all, since they just continuously respawned (a bad bug tbh). When I go to loot some more clips for my gun I notice that I have lost my bag. The ALICE pack I had taken from my own corpse was now missing, and replaced with a coyote backpack (the starting one) but the items inside in the 1-8 slots were exactly the same as in my old ALICE pack. Unable to do anything, we leave and head north, above the airfield into the woods, to test to see whether or not it truly worked, or if I would be stuck in limbo forever. Logging out and back in I find myself again on a fresh character, not even spawned in the same location as before. I log out and in again, and I am again transported to a new spawn location, a fresh survivor. I attempt to go into a house and loot something, get some gear wait an hour, and log out again, and then I am again respawned as a fresh survivor.

I am truly cursed.

I had fun during it all, and I don't know what can be done, I doubt anything from my end. Even if it is not possible to restore anything from my past life (not a big deal), I still want to be able to play Dayz again. At the moment its imposable, nothing is saving for my character. I cannot play like everyone else does because of this. Restarting the game whenever I logout of a server just isn't fun.

S.O.S Please Save Me

TLDR;

Played a long time, game refused to update my position, state, or inventory. Figure that only solution is to die, and walk to body, I do this and now am stuck as constantly dead. Now I can only play the game as a fresh survivor every time I log in.

See above. I didnt think to take screenshots, but I have some phone pictures that me and my friends snapped to brag about what we found. I doubt that will be of any help.

Hi,

It's difficult to narrow down what issues you are experiencing with such a lengthy topic.

As 1.7.2 came out yesterday, there have been several bugs, especially relating to server issues.

Its all one problem it seems. My best guess is my character profile is somehow corrupted on the Dayz hub server, and so is unable to update my position. Certain states may take priority over this, such as player damage and death, which is still able to over write this. It couldent possibly be due to lag, since this took place multiple times over many hours of play.

Also, no offence, did you really read that whole thing in ~2 min? You are one hell of a fast reader!

Sounds like an issue related to your character ID and the central HIVE. I suggest creating a new player id from the main menu settings (in Arma, not DayZ!) and see if this helps your issue.

Also, I'll assume that the server you're connected to is a whitelisted one, correct?
