Dying with 12k blood?

I just randomly fell dead, didn't hear a shot and didn't have flashing food or water. Was I just shot in the back once or did something else happen?

Anyone with any ideas?

You can die without hearing the shot if you are headshotted from a long distance...could be that?

Most likely answer is you got sniped. Either that or just a random glitch occrence due to alpha

I'm actually wondering the same thing, mainly because of this:

I generally play with a real friend of mine, and a few days we were at the same house, playing DayZ to show it to some bros of ours. Anyway, we're just messing around in Cherno on new characters, getting into shootouts and sniping with enfields and shit, and my friend drops dead. Normally, I'd assume he was just sniped from a distant sniper. Happens all the time.

The thing is, when I get wrecked by distant snipers (at least on 1.7.1.5), my debug monitor updates, like 12k blood to on the ground with -7k blood. For him, when he dropped dead (and this was only a day ago, on the newest version), he still had 12k hp. Anyone know what's up?

And yes, he did have the newest Alpha / Beta files.

P. S. Irrelevant criticism of the new forums - I dislike that I have to open a new page to preview my post. It seems like an irrelevant middle step and we could just shuffle the Preview Post button back to where it used to be.

There is a cheat or hack or something, where everyone on the server dies!

I had this twice, I was running around in the middle of nowhere with some friends, and all of a sudden, all 3 of us fell to the ground and the "you are dead" screen appeared :(

If you got shot by the m107 or the other .50 sniper rifle its a 1 shot one kill anywhere

Some strange bugs do occur sometimes still, i for one got crushed by an invisible vehicle of some sort at the docks one time, pretty goddamn horrible to see happen. My brother got thrown into the air and died coming down. Sounds like yours was a hack as i agree that any other means of killing you would have set your blood to negative readings.

The exact same thing happened to me a couple of days ago, just after the new patch. I was in an alleyway picking some things up and the moment I stood up I fell dead. Full blood, no broken bones. I've been sniped before, not sure how far from, but I still heard the "thwok" sound as the bullet entered my head and passed through spraying a bloom of crimson, creating a large exit wound you could put your fist in. Anyway, I've heard hackers can get in and kill people instantly so that's what I'm wondering. I think we just need to verify if there's always an audible sound when you get sniped.

Same happen to the me the other day.. Prob 2 days ago.

I was going to meet a buddy near the coast, we were prob 50m from each other, finally, and suddenly, no sounds, no nothing, I just dropped dead. (didnt get the hour glass, didn't hear a sound, just the you are dead screen.

I thought I was HS/Sniped but we were off to the side of the map, not near popular locations, I also had 12,000 blood still.

My buddy (having nothing to lose) came to where I died to get my M4 SD ect. but couldn't find my body or hear the flies

Meh, shit happens. I believe it was a hacker in US330, or maybe I walked over a rock underground n it just killed me.
