Zombies = superman

1.7.2 patch: zombies are aggro'd from a much larger distance, although you can not be heard as easily. i aggro'd a zombie in elektro from two blocks away. really? they can even see me if i sit dead still, crouched, and then BOOM--two zombies from nowhere. it seems like they now have supervision.

would this be fixed in the next update? or would it stay like this "for the challenge"? if it is to be fixed, then when would the next update be? in a few dayz? or a few weeks?

Supervision as in 10x worse than your vision in the game? I can see a person standing still in a street from half a km away up on a hill outside town. Obviously the infection messed up their vision if they can only see you two blocks away.

So far I'm ok with the new AI, they see you easier, but now I can crouch run around behind them since they don't hear as well.

Main thing that needs to be tweaked is their spawn rate. Hard is good so long as you can clear them out of an area for a while, right now they clown car you to death.

I was doing some running around in Polana tonight, in and out of town 3-4 times. Tried different methods, crawling all the way in, crouch running in, crouch running out, crawling out, and let me tell you, the aggro might have changed a bit, but it's still pretty easy to get through. I ran out of town without care and only aggroed one even if there were several around.

Aggro looks fine to me.

I waltzed from Cherno to NW airfield last night..twice, because of a non save issue. Stopped at the same heli crash two times and crouching plus proning in i aggroed 0 out of 7 zeds. Cruised around the barracks at NW field and the hangars and only aggroed 1 zed . Hit two barns on the way up the second time for a looksee and still never aggroed a zed. I was expecting 1.7.2 to be a massacre after reading all of the posts yesterday but really ? Maybe i need to stroll around town a bit. The only zeds that went me were a bunch of 5 or 6 at one of the long barn buildings outside of Cherno that i aggroed on purpose so i could waste a clip of ammo and pick up a water bottle. Another one of them i easily lost running into the bush when exiting the area.

In the debug box I'm seeing a visibility stat. Has it always been there? I'm assuming the number is how many meters away you'll be seen.

It seems to calculate in being in the shade and being surrounded by walls. In a house, prone, I'm 1.5 while outside it's 12 (10.5 in the shade). I think this is a great system. It blends challenge with a requirement of common sense:

These are not people. These are dead hulks of meat connected to a broken nervous system. They shouldn't have the same attributes as a human. If they did, humanity would already be dead.
