New Player Discussion: The Difference

Recommended Posts

I've noticed alot of "HELP ME INSTALL, HELP ME THIS, BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH" threads going around and have to say the following:

I'm not sure the entire definition of this new sub-forum but from my point of view I'm starting to think that anything that may be troubleshooting should go in the troubleshooting section, which includes the following:

Installation

Technical Issues

Errors in-game

Prevention of the game launching/other means of prevention of DayZ

New player discussion would result in examples:

- Asking what system requirements are to be.

- Asking a question about a feature

- Talking as a new player. Ex: Blah blah, I'm new. Who wants to team and help me?

- Asking a question about the game/mechanics without knowing them

If you follow my drift here, then you understand my view between technical and questions/discussion. I would like a response from a forum moderator/admin.

I created this subforum because most new players were submitting their troubleshooting problems to General Discussion.

This was highly irritating and a drain on us to moderate.

Im under the assumption most new players would sign up to these forums to get their mod working correctly (as it is no easy process). Hopefully they are attracted to this forum instead of general discussion first, since troubleshooting seems to be generally overlooked (perhaps a language thing?)
