binarycode64 0 Posted May 17, 2012 Mod-Z needs a better incentive for surviving longer. Any suggestions?
BannedOpinion 14 Posted May 17, 2012 You have 2 minutes to return fire and you won't lose humanity, I don't think it takes that long to respond.
harryzhe 28 Posted May 18, 2012 reward yourself with a wank after each hour of survival. For most people, surviving is a goal in and of itself - considering the number of ways you can achieve it.oh btw, you might not have noticed, but the longer you stay alive, the more chance, statistically, you have of getting better loot. Katana67 2907 Posted May 18, 2012 Survivors who've survived more than ten days have a 50% chance of looting an M107 equipped with a tactical Fleshlight to whack it in the wilderness. But naw, I don't think there should be more incentive... just more shit to do.- Hunting needs to be made more sporty- Fishing- Crafting/Cooking/Repairing- Building shelter-- Shelter would have to be made significant, meaning it should be beneficial to hunker down in a tent by a fire at night. harryzhe 28 Posted May 18, 2012 yeah, agreed. Animals being more timid would be great.Cooking is already a thing but itd be kind of cool if it took a little longer. Imagine throwing a bit of meat on the fire then going for a walk to come back when it's cooked?Crafting is something they'd have to be really careful with. It could be done awesomely, or totally cliched. It seems shelter will become a thing with the new temperature stuff - at least it looks to be going that way. There's also some half-implemented building items. I think it's a direction the devs plan to go. It sounds like there'll be tons to do.
MR DELICIOUS 297 Posted May 18, 2012 The mod needs to have a few long term goals put into it in a meta sense. Talent points and a very subtle talent tree would be the way to do it I think. Some players would have a very slight advantage over other players to represent the fact that not all survivors begin equal. For instance, specialising in "combat ready" would mean your gun settled 15, 20, 25% faster after running. Stuff like that - not game breaking for those who don't have it, but something to represent the achievement of having survived so long on a natural scale. Another one might be "butcher", which gives 5,10,15,20,25,30,35,40,45,50% more blood back from cooked meat the more you upgrade it. I don't want obtrusive shit like "always spawns with NVGs, but just small adjustments that make your survival more efficient. Also, this stuff would be earned in a few ways. Killing 500 zombies would get you a point. Staying alive for three hours would get you a point. Slaughtering fifteen animals would get you a point, lighting fifty fires etc. Stuff that is too boring or dangerous to repeatedly and intentionally spam or farm, but would occasionally pop up to let you know you're now more skillful. I wouldn't reward points for killing players though, or any player interactions as this could be abused.
seannybgoode 10 Posted May 18, 2012 You don't think getting 10 or 15 murders (or 25 even) should get the player a point? I don't think that's so unreasonable.Think about how long it would take to get a bud to link up with you and kill him, times 25. That would take a long fucking time. It would be easier to patrol the beaches looking for noobs, and still plenty risky at that.
