crossfire flashing issues :(

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone!

I recently just signed up on the day z forums primarily for this problem im having. When i go into the woods in chernarus i often get heavy amounts of white flashing and excessive amounts of bloom. If it happens for too long sometimes the screen will go go dark or have turn to blocks with purple lighting.... weird right?

Heres the info

--------------------------------

I bought Arma 2 CO off of steam

Im running the most current patch

Ive used six updater launcher and doing it the normal way, both methods result in the notorious crossfire flashing

I get crossfire flashing issues. Ive searched for a fix and people say to locate the config file and turn the hdr to 16 instead of the default 32. I wanted to do this but i couldnt find the config file on the steam version!

GPU: x2 crossfire HD 6850s

CPU: Intel i7- 2600k @ 3.40ghz

i cant find the ram but its an old 8gb

tb hardrive corsair

i forget the rest but im sure its more of a GPU issue

win 7 premium

and yeah ive tried searching threads but im stuck at the config file issue which supposedly seems like a fix

Hi,

I've tried to help two people now suffering from the same issue and I still don't know whether this fixes it:

Try turning shadows off and post-processing effects off and report back.

Cheers.

I had the same issue, fixed it this way:

Launch options in sixlauncher:

-beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash -mod=@dayz -world=empty -winxp

And my

ArmA2OA.cfg looks like this:

language="English";

adapter=-1;

3D_Performance=100000;

Resolution_Bpp=32;

Resolution_W=1680;

Resolution_H=1050;

refresh=120;

winX=16;

winY=32;

winW=800;

winH=600;

winDefW=800;

winDefH=600;

Render_W=1680;

Render_H=1050;

FSAA=0;

postFX=0;

GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1;

GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=2;

HDRPrecision=16;

lastDeviceId="";

localVRAM=2147483647;

nonlocalVRAM=2147483647;

vsync=1;

AToC=7;

FXAA=2;

Windowed=0;

PPAA=0;

PPAA_Level=0;

class ModLauncherList

{

class Mod1

{

dir="@DayZ";

name="";

origin="GAME DIR";

fullPath="c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\@DayZ";

};

};

Where I understand the important variables are:

FXAA=2;

FSAA=0;

GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1;

GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=2;

HDRPrecision=16;

The -winxp command in launch options enables CF for Arma

Try it out, good luck!
