Installing the mod...

So I've had to manually install because the 6updater wouldn't download the files properly from anywhere and would otherwise throw up errors and tell me to constantly force another update...

After installing the BETA patch and then downloading the most recent DayZ files, put them in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\@DayZ\Addons

and then have this in the cmd file:

:run

call "%_ARMA2OAPATH%\Expansion\beta\ARMA2OA.exe" "-mod=%_ARMA2PATH%;EXPANSION;ca;@DayZ"

whenever I run the cmd file the cmd box opens momentarily (too quickly to read) and then nothing happens...? What have I done wrong?

I'm assuming the issues you have with Six Updater are due to the extreme demand for the recent patch, 1.7.2.

Are you sure you need to edit the cmd file?

According to the wiki article on installation, yes. The forums were down or something when I was looking for other instructions :/ Also, even without the edit, the cmd file doesn't launch the game.

Ignore trying to launch the cmd!

Use Six Launcher mate.
