Military Blockades

Recommended Posts

Credit goes to Sturob, I read his suggestion, and realized there wasn't a thread in here about it.

- military blockades. Very random and very rare spawns of 2 humvees and 8-10 soldiers blocking off roads. They are here to kill anyone to stop the infection spreading and trying to take them out alone would be deadly' date=' so a group assault is needed. Make it so that if they do get wiped out, the last soldier detonates explosives in the vehicles to stop survivors from using them to flee the infected are.

The blockades could be randomly generated around the map, maybe on the edges of the map, especially towards the north and west(land edges), and maybe a max of 1 or 2 on the map at a time. But the blockades would be highly armed and have AI controlling the soldiers. There would be great risk in assaulting one of these blockades, but also great reward because they would have great gear on them. This would give players some new, dynamic objectives. There could be a random possibility of having various sizes of the blockade spawn, from a single squad to multiple vehicles or helicopters.

Would introduce a lot more military hardware into the game, not to mention working humvees. Not sure whether I like this or think it's too unbalanced. Knowing the ARMA AI a guy with a CZ shooting from the tree line would have an easy time with this setup...

Terrible idea, no additional AI except Zombies (and I guess dogs) in future please. The only presence should be the survivors; everyone else was turned into mince meat.

There wouldn't be working Hummers, re-read the OP. I think this would be a pretty good idea, but as Roshi said, snipers would be too overpowered against this. Maybe make it so that the soldiers can very easily tell where you are (radar), so as to make snipers less effective?

So everyone in the world has been turned into a zombie? Don't you think there would be efforts made by various nationalities to regain control of the situation?

confronting enemy infantry ai isn't that risky as you probably imagine, especially with vanilla arma ai (means not modded)
