Mouse Tweaking

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I am a new player. I just purchased ARMA 2 to play this. I am getting familiar with the engine, but a few things struck me as odd after I set up the game. There seems to be mouse acceleration enabled by default. (I have already disabled mouse smoothing, which is the mouse filter, but there is actual acceleration in the sense that a "rapid" movement of the same displacement causes a larger angle turn in the view than for a slower movement.) I have mouse acceleration permanently disabled in windows, and I have 1:1 pixel per input response on my mouse outside of ARMA 2. I also do not experience any negative acceleration effects on my mouse outside of windows.

Some threads I have read online have claimed the user can disable this mouse acceleration in game settings, but I don't see where to do it. I've searched online and cannot find any resource on how to disable mouse acceleration in ARMA 2. I am wondering if this is possible or if it mouse acceleration is permanently built into the engine.

Also, I am wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to disable the turn speed cap effect. I am experiencing problems navigating the menu and turning quickly in game because when I swipe the mouse quickly, the game decelerates the pointer and it halts. From what I have read online, this is an intended feature of the game. However, I have noticed it sometimes occurring in menus, such as the server browser and the options menu, as well, and this makes the interface very strange.

Any help would be appreciated. I am guessing much of this is built into the engine though.
