kieran.gray16@live.co.uk 1 Posted July 9, 2012 hello, when playing day z i fell that there is nowhere near enough vehicles considering there hefty respawn time and the time it takes to travel in the game so i thought of some vehicles that could work well. the main idea for this post is a combine harvester the reason i believe this would work well in dayz is because there is already a vehicle in the game that is for farming ( Tractor ) so why no add more? it could use the hopper on the front to mow zombies down as there isn't really any vehicles that you can run over zombies with, without damaging the vehicle.it would have to have a slow speed of 20 mph ofroad and 30-40 mph onroad as it would be somewhat very large and heavy, yet it would need to be fast enough to run zombies down if you agree and think this would be a good vehicle to add to the game please comment and vote this thread upthanks for looking
FlashHawk4 44 Posted July 9, 2012 Yeee-hawww! Call up Uncle Niko-Bob, we gotta brang in this here zombah harvest!I think this is a great idea. We might need to make them difficult to maneuver, and more or less confined to the field they spawn in, as in "the streets are filled with broken down cars and you want to drive a what now!?", but in open fields, they hold absolutely massacre zombies, and anything else in its way as well. Gameplay repercussion:You've got a plan. You and two of your buddies are going up that deer stand to grab the loot, but first you have to clear the zombies. You don't want to waste your ammo, but Uncle Niko-Bob over thar points out one uh them there cawm-bines. He hops in it, and you and your buddy run up to the zombies, aggro them all, an lead them right in front of Uncle Niko-Bob and his spinny-bladed death muh-sheen thang. Then Uncle Niko-Bob mows them suckers rah-ght over like they wuz some kinda corn field 'er sum-thin'. Then the three of you run over to the deer stand, safe 'n sound. LT.Sacred 9 Posted July 9, 2012 The work it takes to get a vehicle up and running trumps ammo imo.
FlashHawk4 44 Posted July 9, 2012 I think we might want to make the blades wear down, and need eithe replacement combine gears or scrap metal.

deltaforce11 29 Posted July 9, 2012 +1 good idea! :) I would also like to see technicals added, Pick-up truck + Rare weapon mount drop + M240 = Gun n run over fun! :)
FlashHawk4 44 Posted July 9, 2012 Right. It would still run, and it would still be dangerous due to the whole "being big as hell" thing, but it wouldn't be a literal meat grinder.

FlashHawk4 44 Posted July 9, 2012 Honestly, I don't think vehicle mounted weapons are as OP as people think.Compare it to a sniper rifle. With a machine gun mounted in te back of a pickup, A) Your whole body is exposed because you're standing upright; a sniper's is not.B) Your approach, by the sound of the vehicle and of the gun, is trumpeted to those all around you; a sniper is silent until it's too late.C) Especially while in motion, your machine gun is chattering away at a general area at best, giving to low hit probability, since the target has time to take cover, and high ammo expenditure. Snipers are usually one shot, one kill.D) You NEED at least two people to drive and shoot. Snipers can do bad all by themselves.E) You need to keep up with gas, repairs, and bullets; snipers only need one round to stay in business.F) You're a highly visible target to everyone, since your car is automatically a luxury item in this cut throat economy. A sniper turns invisible very quickly.G) You need to keep it hidden, and a soon as you can no longer stick it outside of Chernarus, you'll have a hard job.Just a few reasons I can think of just off the bat.
