Any hope for single player

Hello, I am buying ARMA 2 CO and am geting the DayZ mod, but I am not even remotely close to being considered a "Muitiplayer minded" gamer, I understand you guys probably have a million posts like this but none have given me the answer I was looking for.

I of course am talking of single player in DayZ, I would like an extra mode wiht a different character to play in single player. I understand some peoiple saying "It takes the whole survivial poiint out" or "But then you cant work together"

Heres the thing, in DayZ I'd rather die by my own dumbass descision and getting eaten by zombies than shot by some sniper while minding my own buisness not doing anything.

I will play the multiplayer, but I would love some sort of single player function to later be added ( This isn't a "demand" it's merely a suggestion)

Are they adding it, if so when, if not why not?

You can play the game being a complete loner and not run into anyone if you're careful enough. In the past 2 weeks of playing I have honestly not seen a single other person (on full servers).

It'd be a nice addition, especially considered the state of the servers right now. And it would give folks a nice way to avoid PvP if they so chose, though other players are a pretty big part of the experience imo.

Very true and if you want to be absolutely sure you never run into anyone you can join an empty server.

The map is gigantic so it shouldn't be that hard.

basically its not a current goal for the game but it will probably happen at somepoint in the distant future... maybe as a mod once DayZ becomes stand-alone.

One thing also, DayZ is very connection intensive, single player or some sort of LAN it would be great for people to still play DayZ if they`re watching internet usage and bandwidth

Hey there,

I only just started playing a couple days ago, and so far enjoyed every moment. To be honest, before I did start, I kinda had the same worries as you. My own experiances with multiplayer games have always been getting shot in the face repeatedly from some bastard with a sniper rifle, in a bush, miles away! So far I've found Day Z not to be this way, yeah It happens (though not to me so far) but given the size of the game world (huge) and the amount of players on each server (I haven't seen anymore than 50) it seems quite rare to see anyone, nevermind being shot constantly!

This really isn't close to being a cod-mmo, if anything, playing solo (which I do) feels kinda lonely - but in a good way. Very atmospheric, when you are out there on your own!
