Bandits of DAY Z

Hey everyone,

I've been playing religiously last few days and love this game! I wanted to see how everyone feels about bandits? I've already murdered 6 people, mainly out of fear and killed about 20 and some zombies.

I've made one regrettable kill, which was me logging into a server turning around seeing a guy jump down screaming friendly, my natural instinct was to fire at something quick proning, and I did. Using my Kobra I killed him, at least I was able to get my friend a DMR and loads of supplies.

Today I just found 2 guys sneaking into a building and murdered them, thought one was coming at me with his axe.

So far things have been exciting, knowing those people have actually lost EVERYTHING makes me feel like I really did murder them. :/

Have any of you murdered people and regret it? Do you shoot on sight out of fear?

I always try to communicate with them to find out if they are friendly or not. When I'm too far away I just observe them for some minutes and try to avoid them when I'm not 100% sure that they won't shoot me. I guess killing is always the last option I use. Sure, i killed some players out of a shock reaction or when they shoot at me. But I'm not a bandit that camps on towers with his sniper and just kills senseless everybody he sees. I just hate those players.

Yeah, it sucks the fun out. I mean I understand that it's part of the experience, dealing with hostile players, but it's more fun to fight them to survive than it is for "lulz", I think. To each his own, I guess.

On my first play I spawned on the beach and looked into the ocean and saw a boat. I swam out to the boat only to find that the gas was empty and I couldn't drive it. So I swam back to shore to find that while swimming I had lost the backpack that you spawn with. I continued to play looking for packs but didn't find anything except for an enfield and some ammo. I played for about 3 hours before I came across the first player I had seen the entire time, someone who looked like they had just spawned. Running low on food, water, and ammo I decided to shoot him down for his baclpack. Unfortunately the shots alerted every zombie in the nearby proximity and I only escaped with my life. When I snuck back to retrieve the guy's pack, it had dissapeared. Later that playthrough I ventured in to the city in a last ditch effort for survival. I found a cache of medical supplies, food, and weapons. As I was making my way back into the woods with all this stuff, I was gunned down by another player. Karma? Lol

I have not yet killed a survivor, but have been shot twice.

I found 1 player with gun, who did not kill me.

5 min later 2 people turned up and all hell was let loose in a medical tent with 3 shotguns.

I would prefer people to be more freindly and not always shoot on sight. Unless your in a vehicle i wont shoot. But that mindset is slowly changing.

I've still not actually run into anyone, even though I always play on full servers. For the first time today I hear gunshots nearby while I was cooking some meat, so I panicked and ran to a tree line. I was fully prepared to kill whoever it was if they came my way (out of fear), but saw no one.

Sadly this game truly shows what WOULD happen in real life, so many people would be killed by each other, not zombies. If you're walking down a road low on supplies with a gun and see someone with lots of food, you will want that food by any means necessary, human nature, this is survival.

So why would you shoot at people in vehicles? Where is the different between them and survivors on their feet? You often have to work very hard for a car. I would try to talk with them. Maybe they pick you up and you can drive with them through chernarus. Where is the need in killing those players?

ya so far it seems everyone i run into, as long as they have a weapon they'll attack you.

I am a bandit. I kill, I murder, I betray. And i have no regrets. Why? Just because when i started the game, someone did the exact same thing to me.

Good luck to play as survivor, i personally have i high score of two weeks with minimum 4 hours of playing per day without being killed as a bandit. I got over 16 murders, my heart is beatng hard. I can't turn back, i am now born to kill.

When I started I played a whole month without shooting anyone, just avoiding people entirely. But people see a dude playing alone all geared up and they don't bother with pleasantries, I got gunned down enough times, in one instance 6 times in less than an hour, to give up on meeting potential friendlies and I just shoot anyone that gets near enough to be of any danger to me. If I see someone far enough that hasn't noticed me I don't bother them. I'm also helping local guys learn the game so I can start rolling with a group sometimes.

I'm a bandit only because everytime I've met someone shout friendly, they end up backstabbing me.

i think the worst is when people will backstab you.

Luckily i play in a group though.

Why i shoot at people with cars is the simple reason they WILL kill you!
