Ok a few things

Is this a laptop?

Second try setting the setting for the game under nvidia control panel. Or look under armaholic website for ways to optimize the game.

For me the problem I had was the game was trying to prerender 10000 frames in advance.. Lol

Under nvidia panel I set it to 3 frames which jumped from 30 to 60 at all times!

I experienced that this can be server related.

I normaly have >40 fps but when i joined on that one server i had only 2 fps no matter what i did - very strange.

I dont remember the name of the server, but have you tried joining another server?

But if you have that problem in the arma2 singleplayer too, i cant help you.

If you're on a server with crappy performance you will get low FPS.

First tips are to turn off antialiasing and set shadow detail to very low or off.

I just wrote a thread on setting up your graphics, check it out for more details.

Try going to single player senerios then running the benchmark. If it gets good fps then it's the server. If not then its ur computer or setting u have on. Also make sure the resolution and the other setting that looks like a resolution setting (can't remember what's its called) are set to the same.

Have you checked if the cpu and gpu performance is being throttled by the power management of your operating system?

On laptops the hardware performance is often automaticaly tuned down by a LOT to preserve battery life which can make games unplayable.

Using the official Nvidia whql driver is a good start but also make sure all the other system drivers and direct X components are installed.

Another nemesis of gaming on laptops is overheating of components and this can also cause performance to be throttled.

I run the game in 1080p high settings with very decent fps on an Intel Q9450 @ 2.66GHz with 4 gigs or ram and a Nvidia GTX280.

I built this pc 4 years and 5 months ago.

This system was good back then but extremely dated today.

Clean and properly configured drivers, os and games make a big difference.

Ok right click on desktop

Go to nvidia control panel

Left side click on manage 3d settings

Then click on program setting and you will have to add the arma 2 OA exe

Then you can set the settings for the game
