Castle Rog and others

Recommended Posts

Folks.

I keep my map close to me at all times; one thing I've noted in the legend but never seen are the red stairs - the symbol for "castle, chateau, stronghold and ruins"

I've yet to find any of these, btu one in particular sticks out. Castle Rog. It looks like it has solid altitude, and if it's truly a castle it must be worth investigating.

Is it worth it? Is Castle Rog fortifiable and "safe" by Day Z standards, or does it have its own Zed spawns inside the structure? What typically spawns there? My guess is junk, but if there's any probability of medicine or food, then it could be a suitable stronghold for trafficking newer players further inland.

Castles are okay, they spawn general loot. If you are lucky you can find a ghillie. They usually have 5 or so zeds that spawn around the perimeter. The keeps are actually quite fortifyable, as they only have one entrance.

There's quite a few loot spots. I've been there once, found a person there. Shot her semi-accidentally. The other time I was in the slope below, and heard gunshots...

I believe there is a copter spawn there at Rog? So that's why I would classify it as a risky spot.

Thanks for the intel. I figured these areas - Rog in particular- would see some traffic, so I wont be making any trips there until I've got company.

Bit of a non-sequitor- I know you can find and make cars; what about motorbikes? I heard something blow down the road while I was hidden in a shed that didn't sound like a truck or a chopper, and had the sputtering kick of a bike engine.

It was a dirt bike probably.
