Caom 0 Posted July 9, 2012 Are you tired of zombies respawning right before your eyes and breaking your legs?If you answered yes to the above question then hear me out. I am here to provide a solution, it may not be perfect but it is better then nothing, right?Okay here goes:(Provided that you haven't already guessed from the obvious title) My idea is to make the Infected/Zombies respawn daily at a set time, preferably when there is the least amount of people online (maybe midnight of each timezone).How it's going to work:The amount of zombies spawned per server depends on the maximum number of different players that played on the server (not at the same time). That number will be *10 (maybe less or more, I'm a noob I don't actually know how much zombies there are.) and this will determine the population of the zeds.The zombies are only spawned once per day so they won't magically appear from a building you just cleared or pop up behind you when you were sure nothing was there a moment ago.The zombies are NOT all spawned in the same location. They are NOT spawned inside of buildings,towns or cities. They will be spawned close by so they will eventually stumble in, this is to prevent people who are already inside these locations to be instantly killed or swarmed. A warning message is given out 10 minutes prior to the spawning allowing people to escape potential spawn zones and seek shelter.The zombies that are already spawned do NOT vanish during each new day, even if the number of players is lower today then it was yesterday, if that is the case then no new zombies are spawned provided that the zombie population is still 10x greater then the players that have been on the server.E.G 100 player have been on one server yesterday causing 1000 zeds to spawn. Only 200 are killed causing 800 to remain due to the maximum amount of players on the server being 70. The next day no new zombies are spawned and the old ones remain at 800.Thanks for reading my suggestions, I might add a TL;DR later.Any constructive criticism is appreciated. Cosmo I BH 1 Posted July 9, 2012 I agree that it's annoying to have a zombie spawn up in your ass, but this is not gonna work out well. You see, the zombie spawn system works like this: Zombies will only spawn in villages, cities etc if a player is near or approaching that location. So if there's no players at Berezino then there's no zombies. I.e. This prevents server issues like lag. Also it would nearly be impossible to play in a server that have been empty for atleast 1 week. I hope that you understand where I'm going with my reply.-Cosmo. TheProphecy 33 Posted July 9, 2012 My understanding is zombies are currently tied to individual players, not the server. That's why when you DC to avoid zombie aggro the zombies disappear and do not linger. They would need to tie the zombies to the servers before something like this could happen.
