I know you guys love reading stories about experiences in DayZ, so I decided to share what's been going on with my current character. I've been alive for 26 days so far with way too many hours logged in. Here are some of the highlights...

Recent spawn (2nd day) - NE Airfield

Weapon: Lee Enfield

I was running from 5 zombies in NE Airfield, ducking and dodging through the hangars. While hitting up the last one at the end, a guy in ghillie spawned right in front of me. He chased me behind the hangar and went prone next to the toll booth. I dispatch the zombies and call out "friendly" many times. He doesn't respond. I peek out a few times to see him slowly edging towards me, trying to line up a shot. After yelling out for the last time, I decided to pop him with 1 shot to the head. Dead.... I find a FN FAL with NV (1 mag), M9SD (No Ammo), Bloodpacks, and Coyote backpack. I grab them and run.

3rd day - Krasnostav

Weapon: FN FAL NV

I found a downed heli upon entering the server that day. I quietly make my way there, when I see a muzzle flash coming from the grass in front of it. It was a player shooting up zombies. I quickly kill him out of fear of being shot and find Rangefinders, NVG, M4SD and 15 mags. At this point I'm excited to find the silenced gun, which would become my favorite weapon in the game. Fearing of being shot at, I quickly go through his pack and accidentally drop the FN FAL NV and Rangefinders on the ground without realizing this a few minutes later. Upset over the loss, I traveled to the NW Airfield.

11th day - NE Airfield

Weapon: M4SD

I hooked up with a guy named Auzzi from the forums (good guy) and his buddies (Tempest and Majesticshitstain) in TS. While chatting with them (they were in Stary at the time) and looting the SW barracks, I spot a guy inside. I yell out friendly a few times with no response, so I quietly kill him off through the window. He had a DMR on him. I put that in my pack and began to walk outside when a ton of zombies rushed towards me. I got hit a few times and managed to get away without realizing I was bleeding. I make a run for the Fire station and notice I'm at 5000 health before I bandage myself. I begin to panic. I run up to the 3rd floor and my guy passes out. I was unconscious for at least 5 minutes. I call out to my newly acquired friends over TS and they decide to take a van up to save me. I manage to regain consciousness without getting killed (50 out of 50 in the server) and quickly run out of the airfield towards a barn to the east. Majestic drives over, give me a blood transfusion, and we make our way back to Stary (picking up another unconscious friend on the way). I am safe for now.

13th day - Cherno

Weapon: M4SD

Feeling adventurous, Tempest and I decide to make our way to Cherno to do some looting. I wanted to find a Ghillie suit, so it was worth the risk. We started hitting up the pubs. We hear gunshots all around, but we don't run into anyone the entire time. We make our way to the tents, stock up on supplies, and then climb the 2nd highest tower in the city. Tempest has a strong thirst for blood, so he sniped a few players while I watched out for hostiles. (I try not to kill players without a reason.) He ends up taking a few steps too many and falls off the building. Seeing enough death for the day, I go prone and log out.

14th day - Cherno

Weapon: M4SD

I log in and find out that Tempest found a ghillie for me. We arrange a meeting at the bottom of the tower and proceed to go back up north. Our goal is to loot the Stary tents for some ammo and gear. It is nighttime and there are currently 3 hostile players in the server, so we decide to be aggressive. Running through each tent, we find him a M9SD, ammo for both of us, and enough ammo. As I reach the final large tents, I hear a gunshot. I'm hit and get knocked unconscious with very little blood left. I hear bullets hitting all around me and I'm screaming over the mic for Tempest to get out of there. Tempest runs away and tries to find a better position. Majestic logs on TS and hears the commotion and lets us know he was actually logged out in the same damn tent that I was in. All is quiet. We're not sure where the sniper is, but he logs in anyways. My blood is at 1000k and dropping. He manages to bandage me up, use an Epi-pen, give me a transfusion, and fix my broken legs without getting shot at. (This was in a matter of minutes.) Thankful for saving my week old character (again), I give him the DMR and we make a run for the hills. Where did the sniper go? He never did come down to grab my loot. I'm alive with full health and all gear intact. We decide to make a run up north and pass the dam on our way to Berezino. I log out for the night as they go on without me.

20th day - Stary

Weapon: M4SD

I check the forums and notice that a player posted about wanting to recruit me on his team. (The Pirates of Chernarus) Excited for the chance for large-scale teamwork and great loot, I join their forums and become a probationary member. First day with the team and we are running with 12 people strong. (Off-road, van, dirt bike) I get a GPS and a DMR and we all meet up in Stary. I swear it felt like I was in a movie. We had two different groups, one on each side of the lake south of Novy, with a vehicle for each. (All ghillied up with top-tier weapons) We hear about a bus that is being camped by a sniper just west of us. We all make our way towards it, only to find that it has taken off up the hill. We make chase, screaming out at the driver telling him to stop or else he'd be shot. We circle around him and take him out, accidentally killing one of our own in the process. Sad about the loss but excited for the new ride, we hear over TS that the guys in the off-road got shot by two camping snipers, with only the driver remaining. He manages to get away and we take our 4 vehicle convoy with 9 people (Bus, off-road, van, dirt bike) to a hidden location. Success!

21st through 24th day

Weapon: M4SD

The next few days are spent with the team, going on looting runs all over the map and taking out other hostile players. We have at least 20 members on the server at all times doing all sorts of crazy stuff. Hackers bombed the towns, members died left and right, but my guy manages to be offline when these things happened. I'm feeling pretty lucky at this point. The guys are starting to like having me around. I have the oldest character out of everyone in the group and the members that stick with me stay alive. I was given a L85 (one of three people to have them in the group out of 40+ members) and I use thermal to my advantage on many occasions. Life is good and I'm healthy and rich as ever.

25th day (Yesterday) - Electro

Weapon: L85

I meet up with one of the members (Vader) and we raid Stary before decided to go south to Cherno. There were a bunch of members with fresh characters and we wanted to join in on the fun. On our way down, one of the higher ranked members came on to tell us he had a trade and wanted us to watch over him. We head back up near the NW airfield when one of the guys from Cherno comes into our channel to tell us a hacker just flew over with a heli and bombed the entire city. Everyone in that group died and I once again avoided death. The trade goes over well. (Our M107, SVD, 3 NVGs for a few Rangefinders and SVD ammo) I'm given a SVD and a pair of the RFs and I realize I've gotten all the best gear in the game. I'm 25 days in and rich as can be. I give the SVD to a buddy shortly after in exchange for his M4SD. (sniping is boring to me and I love that silencer) It took a while to decide which loadout I wanted, but you can't go wrong with the M4A1 SD and L85. We go on a few raiding adventures and then I join a small group to go snipe people in Electro. Auzzi, from my other group, joins us and we make our way to the NW hill overlooking the city. I'm on point with the thermal, one is sniping, and the other two are down in the town. We hear a few gunshots and see a few players, but it is nothing out of the ordinary. All of a sudden I hear AK shots and the sniper (who was 10m at the right of me) goes down. I turn his way and quickly take the attacker out before he starts looting the body. At this point I feel like I have a guardian angel watching over me. I've avoided death for so long. The sniper gets his gear back and we leave the town before the bandit comes back. We decide to call it a night about an hour later and log out near the coast.

I'm on my 26th day and excited to be alive. I've yet to come across a hacker, but I've heard of many. I know my death is around the corner but it won't stop me from taking risky chances. Someone will be very happy to kill me someday. Bring it on, bandits!

Awesome man.

I'm currently at 15 days alive, which is my longest in the lastes patches, and pretty awesome, as I'm a combat medic and frequently take new people to operations (both of those gets you dead quite easily).

Just now found my first ever L85, absolutely LOVE the sights. Still stuck with the G17 though, no luck at all with silenced weapons for me :/

The L85 coupled with the M9SD would be boss over anything for me, can't have two rifles tho, gaving to carry around lots of blood and morphine.

I lucked out again. I joined a bunch of the new 1.7.2 servers and managed to only lose my Ghillie and L85. Success!
