Why won't it work and what can I do to fix it?

Basically I have owned the ARMA2 Combined Operation pack for a month now. I have only been able to play the mod once. I try every day yet everyday no matter which patch or what I do it won't work.

The problem I am encountering is that the game will skip and jump every few seconds. It's annoying but I can still play however... before I have been able to play for even 5 minutes the game will suddenly freeze and when I get back I can move around for a few seconds and then I will no longer be receiving signals to the server. Not only that but every time that happens my internet is buggered and I have to restart my PC.

I have re installed everything but the game so far as I am able to play the actual ARMA2 game alright. I have tried every possible combination of setting for both audio and visual and I have no idea what I can do now.

Does anyone else have this same problem or does anyone know how to fix it?

If it's completely buggering your internet, it sounds like the issue is something related to your ports on your router.

You shouldn't need to open any ports but if they're all closed, this may be the issue. Check these ports:

2302 - UDP

2303 - UDP

2305 - UDP

Ensure that you're launching the game using Six Launcher, with the Arma 2 beta installed. Also try on several different servers.
