Pickpocketing???

Welp, I ran into a bug last night that allowed me to discover that you can loot the living (not the bug itself)

or what appears to be the ability to loot the living

is this true?

It's not a bug as such. Just an unintended game mechanic that's been spotted by the dev team and left alone because it's useful. Sure you could go around pickpocketing other random players with it but you could also let your buddy take ammo from your bag while you keep a look out for hostiles. You can also add stuff to other player's bags too. The ability to access other player's bags is much better than dropping something on the floor for them to pick up, if you're in the forest then you might not be able to find the dropped item again.

yeah, I know that's not the bug, the bug is something I'm not talking about here

I just noticed this because of something to do with the bug in question, but I hadn't realized you could loot the living before this

Do you mean accessing people's gear? Becuase that would be a bug.

Or do you mean accessing someone's bag? That isn't a bug.
