whatbadguy 21 Posted July 9, 2012 As everyone is trying to find an unrealistic solution to the whole 'bandit vs survivor' issue I propose this something a bit more drastic.. why do some people kill other players no matter their equipment? I'm sure a Flashlight is not very useful for someone with NVGs and a DMR, they do it because they can and I don't blame them, it's a game and pissing people off is fun.. heh, however I believe if you want to simulate a realistic appocolypse you should make ammunition significantly harder to find. This will impose a thought process of wasting my ammo on that guy so I can piss him off (and put a smile on my face) or should I save my ammo for future engagements everyone knows my pacifist neighbor doesn't have a weapon that shoots 5.56 SD ammo... I think. Why do I find M107 ammo lining the streets of Elektro (Not really). Limiting ammo drops would undoubtedly reduce the stray bullets flying through the air at pointless targets. The above poorly constructed paragraph is - I'm done writing judge and be done.. Crayolacrayon 10 Posted July 9, 2012 That would probably just make more bandits because using a few bullets on a survivor will probably net you a lot more.
whatbadguy 21 Posted July 9, 2012 This is true, I enforce killing others for ammo, or make peoples kills worth their weight in lead you don't usually kill guys with flashlights for ammo, this is mainly what I think should be avoided as banditry is a very good survival technique though if you had a gun with limited ammunition in a zombie apocalypse would you use one of those bullets on someone that's practically unarmed? I'm just trying to create a second thought process before pulling the trigger.
WhiteTigerShiro 25 Posted July 9, 2012 That would probably just make more bandits because using a few bullets on a survivor will probably net you a lot more.A flawed counter for two reasons:1) That's part of the idea. Rather than killing people for no reason because they're bored' date=' this would encourage the idea of killing people because you actually need their loot. I don't know about you, but I feel a little better knowing someone killed me for the sake of his survival than because he's bored and spending his surplus ammo.2) But at the same time, maybe you'll figure there's less chance of him having ammo [i']because it's harder to find now. whatbadguy 21 Posted July 9, 2012 Exactly my point - some could say it's a radical idea but I believe it would influence a more difficult and calculative survival experience which is ultimately the goal of DayZ..
