Watched a guy get himself killed combat logging.

I dunno if these people were all part of the same group or just barely missing each other, but I saw three different players in the spawn of about 2 minutes at NWAF just now. All of them aggroed some zombies. One ran into a hangar and logged out, in fear of fighting off three oh so intimidating zombies. The second came along shortly after, being chased by a SINGLE zombie and without any attempt at self defense, logged out. However, the zombie snuck a hit in right before she vanished. When she poofed back in about 10 seconds later she keeled over in shock. I laughed for a couple seconds before shooting her from where I was. Finally saw a third guy camping the top of the comm tower.

Point is, what's the fun of DayZ if you're going to log in the event that ONE zombie is chasing you? Of course none of them knew I was watching.

I would assume that they logged so that they wouldn't have to fire their guns, alerting other players. If I'm in a high traffic area I run out of the area if zombies are chasing me. I only shoot if I'm cornered. I'd say about 30% of the time if I shoot in a high traffic area I end up meeting somebody looking for trouble. That being said, whenever I'm sniping the thing that alerts me easiest is when I see someone running from a train of zombies.

See, that's what I'm wondering. Most of us think loggers are logging under PvP fire, but a lot of the quiet watching I've been doing lately of people who don't know players are nearby has been people who do this:

1. Run somewhere.

2. Aggro a handful of zombies.

3. Jump back to the lobby to deload zombies.

3. Log back in and jog into building.

Repeat ad nauseum for each structure. And I'm up here just wondering what's so fun about that :-/

wait.. this sound familiar.. what server were u on?

...Forgot. The players were named Jeff, Ethan and Ricky Waters though, without identifying which was which.
