'no video available' HELP PLEASE

I have been playing DayZ for about a month now with no problems whatsoever, but tonight, i came on and decided to play around with a few of the video settings on the game (not sure whether this has affected the situation but it may be relevant nevertheless). I then restarted the game only to find that it wont load. When i say this i mean the game does actually load, but nothing shows, and then i get a message from my monitor appear on screen saying 'no video available', as if there is no signal from my computer. However, i can simply alt-tab from the game and the signal comes back again.

Since i run the game from the beta patch shortcut i have tried updating the beta patch and have still had no luck. I can still run the game from steam but that is no use to me.

I have also tried updating my driver software for my graphics card.

Any suggestions as to what may be the problem would be very much appreciated.

I've been having the exact same problem the past few days, can't find a solution anywhere.
