Where are people getting all this good stuff?

I found a corpse of a bandit not looted and he had a rangefinder, an ak74 with 8 mags and the coyote backpack (24 slot one (first time even seeing it). Where are people getting all this nice gear? I've been to all the airfields, multiple fire stations etc multiple times without seeing these things.

go "open back" while its still on the ground, at the top of the inventory window on the left side you will see slots (16/16, 24/24)

Selecting 'Open ... Pack' in the scrollwheel menu should allow you to see how many slots the pack has.

You have to be prepared to camp the same spot for hours upon hours upon hours on end. Items respawn after a while. Airfields have all of the call of doody camper players usually camping all day for a pair of NVG's. If you are not prepared to camp for hours at a time in the same exact spot all day long then you will not be competitive with the call of duty players.

I notice you failed to address the fact that what is required to get that gear is to camp the airfields for hours upon hours at a time waiting for powerful items to respawn in the same known locations over and over and over again.

As for my parents why don't you keep them out of this. I am sure yours are crying tears of pure blood at the sadness of having a brony for an offspring.

Let's get back on track to the topic of this thread, where do all of the good items spawn.

The good items spawn at the airfields. Best stuff northern airfields. Seen some decent stuff on top of the clock tower in the center of Cherno also. Check firehouses. It takes a long time to get a decent amount of good gear. Lots of hangers to check, a firehouse and a tower at the north western airfield. Every 20-30 minutes or so new items spawn in place of the old items.

And yet you say only the CoD guys are the ones that do this (or rather, they're the guys you have to compete with.. which really makes no sense considering the style of ARMA II to begin with.)

Let's get back on track to the topic of this thread, where do all of the good items spawn.

NVGs have a spawn chance on cherno town hall, there is also a new place to get some good gear (mostly eastern, aks with optics etc) somewhere in the centre of the map.

There are numerous other places where high quality gear spawns regularly. They're just harder to find and have single/double spawns. The benefit of the airfield is about 20 spawns in a small area.

Good stuff spawns at:

Apartments (Can get high-tier weapons there also a lot of survival items and backpacks)

Long Barns, Pigstys, Small Barns (Old rifles - Enfields, Winchesters, CZ + ammo)

Garages, Gas Stations, Hangars (Auto Parts)

Fire Stations (High tier weapons, ammo, also military and police zombies)

Hospitals (Meds)

Goverment Buildings (Weapons, Dead Survivors)

Supermarkets (Backpacks, Pistols, Ammo)

Game Ranger Guard Towers (NVGs)

Barracks (High tier weapons)

Control Towers (High tier weapons, ammo)

Just look for specific landmarks.

So I would assume that NVGs spawn in the green military towers, and Deer stands?

Been alive 5 total in game days, going on 6, made the trip across the entire norther section going from NWAF, Devil's Castle, NEAF (KRASNO) 4 times, only ever saw bare bones AK's, one M4 which I've carried since I found it, one M9SD, and one M1014. Never any of the ridiculous weapons like SAW's, M240's, or suppressed weapons/long range weapons, yet I see every other guy on youtube posting a video with one of those. What the hell? I guess I'm just really unlucky when it comes to that, but I'm still alive... for now. Maybe I'll get one if I camp for hours on end, but that isn't fun at all. I think there should be tasks/missions to complete in future updates where you can earn weapons and gear like that instead of camping the airfield.

There are these weird human like things walking around, not zombies...they're kinda rare I guess but really easy to kill and they are ALWAYS full of loot; guns, ammo, water, food, NVGs...you name it.

your not neccesarily unlucky, its just that alot more loot spawns down along the coast, seeings as there is a military base, airfield and 2 major cities, both of which have fire stations and hospitals.

you dont necessarily need to camp to get good gear, the only problem is your likely to be shot while searching around said places (especialy on the US servers)
