No Weapons as far as the eye can see..

I have been playing DayZ and i have been enjoying quite a bit but, i have only found one weapons and zero mags for it, so when will i be able to shoot something? i found a helicopter but no guns, is it just me or is that VERY unlikely?

It's probably just you. My friends and I have 5 tents stocked full of weapons and an unlimited amount of ammo. We are tripping over the amount of weapons we have in this game. Just look in the Balota airfield, every deer stand, NW Airfield, Stary Sobor, supermarkets and barn. There's no way you shouldn't be stumbling upon weapons every time you play.

Depends on where you look. 15 minutes into the game and I find 2 makarov's and a silenced M9, and some ammo for each. If you really have no weapons then you got nothing to lose so just go crazy, look for shit in castles, run across towns even. Raid everything you see.

I must admit, all I've found today is a load of empty tins in barns, deer stands and military installations. Must be my unlucky day (though I did find an M4 after tidying up the deer stands in the area south of Balota airfield).

it seems that you are VERY unlucky. try heading to cherno or elektro. it's dangerous, but it's very likely that you will find a weapon there. if you don't know where you are, try using a map. don't have one? google.
