Map Marker

Not sure if this is the right place, first time posting, I had a quick skim through the forums and couldn't find my answer so I thought i'd post here!

Well I was looking at my map and I saw I was highlighted on the map with a blue circle and an arrow comming out of the circle pointing in the direction I was facing. I thought nothing of it and carried of shuffling through the woods. I got the edge and had another quick look at my map and noitced a faint orange circle, identicle to mine except the colour. I hovered my cursor over it and it said 'man'. Now, I don't know if this is a survivor or some new NPC but I quickly jumped up and ran as fast as I could in the opposite direction before disconnecting to come on here to ask!

What I'm really asking is if maps can now tell you the location of other players if you're close to them? Does the blue marker show up to other players aswel? This might be in the patch notes and after writing this I'll go look, I just remembered them halfway through typing this ;)

Your playing on a casual server, the blue dot is yourself, (so instead of trying to survive and struggle to find places you can with ease look where you are and enjoy the no effort required side)

I never really bothered to stay on one of those servers long enough to work out the orange dot but from arma 2 it was an unknown i think, so you couldnt tell if it was hostile or not so i would say its a player

Orange dots on the map are zombies, not players. You can see other players on the map but you have to look at them for a while and have to be close, also they appear as blue dots.
