Who needs Helicrash

Recommended Posts

Me and my mates spend lot of times searching 4 Helicrashsites. We found 6-7 of them. In our camp we already have 2 l85, 5 FAL, 2 FAL NWS, 5 Bizons etc.

Today we wanted to go kill some people. Our Server was really empty so we decided to sitch server( first timer ever we do this). After connecting we were heading north to stary NW airfield etc.

U can belive or not. on our way we found 14 tents. There were tents everywhere. One tent was really nice. It had 2 M107, 1 L85, 1 NVG, 1 Rangedfinder, 1 Ghilliesuite + Ammo and supplies!

This tent was really near to a bigger town.

I guess someone is really mad now.;)

We wont search nomore 4 Helicrashes, we gonna loot tents;)

BTW: The whole tentlooting was done in abaout 1,5 hours.

I wish there was some safe way to store one's items. Tents are always found no matter where you put them. What are good places for tents so they don't get looted? Anyone?

Good, storing items for after you die is dumb. Everyone should have to start from the beginning on death.

You do start from the beginning on death, the tent is still your old characters so even if you take as much as you can carry you'll lose some things if you're a loner.

Well its assuming when we die we play the same character but he is rebirthed, who is to say when we respawn we are not representing another survivor? Thus making the finding our own body issue less disturbing.

You lose "some things". You should lose everything.

I thought the idea was that only you, the person who placed it, could access a tent - anyone else looking in it wouldn't see anything.

Nope, it was never intended to be a bank vault to store all your good gear in case you die. Its for saving loot in a very risky way if you don't want to carry it all right then.

They are making it so that tents will de-spawn if the original character that placed them dies though, they will only last a week or so now.

1) If you are going to post something that 'sounds' informative, and seems to have a paraphrased version of the Devs words... then supply some information to backup what you said they said.

2) Making tents attached to characters is idiotic.

"A tent can hold up to five backpacks, ten weapons & tools and fifty general items." - DayZ Wiki

So yeah, if you have a tent near/at capacity you'll lose a lot... and this is a similar situation to knowing the location of someone else's tent and stealing their things on a new spawn, the difference being you have the knowledge because you can't just forget... All of your things could be stolen before you even get back to it, which did actually happen to me.

Yep, I think they last 6 days after the owner dies...

Keep at least a mile away from your intended loot areas. If you plan on staying around the NW airbase or stary, go at least further than that. I suggest past petrovka, and I know of some players using the dam area because it is so remote. I know Skalka would be a great place for the NWAF. However, the best spots are those that only people with vehicles would bother going to(if you have a vehicle). Places so remote that people on foot would just not even bother.

1) You can just use the search function, takes like 5 second bro.

2)If you're going to post something that 'sounds' subjective, at least give us the reasoning as to why.
