I was very lucky enough to find a FN FAL ANPV this morning. Planning on running up to devils castle to trade it at free trade(it only has nv scope). go to put it in my pack so I'm not such a target. Then all I heard was nom nom nom. Back pack ate it, had 14 open slots.

I think he means he was on a server with players who had established a market at Devil's Castle. Larger groups take the role of merchant caravans and such for a challenge.

Its not just backbacks unfortunately, its all inventories including tents and vehicles.

It's get fixed sooner or later, until then we can just sigh when a good gun gets gobbled up.

Make sure that when you switch weapons from your pack, always use the ">" arrow to move the gun *out* of your pack and into your main. Doing it the other way often munches it.

Haven't had a bag eat anything yet but my tent is a hungry little bastard. It's eaten a toolbox, a military flashlight, blood bags, morphine injectors and other random bits. It doesn't seem to like the taste of my weapons or ammo. But yeah, gonna have to put that tent on a diet or it's gunna turn in to a two berth tent soon.

I picked up an AKM and a M4A1 yesterday, and seeing as I had more ammunition for the M4 I put the AKM in my backpack. 10 minutes afterwards I realized it was gone, along with the 2 magazines for it.

(Also a couple of hours ago I got stuck in a pond trying to re-fill my kanteen. I lost my backpack, where I had lots of baked beans, a few magazines and some soda. I got out in the end though)

So... "1st rule of DayZ: Don't get attached to your gear".
