How long to things stay in the game world for

and how long until a piece of loot will cycle? for example, I've been in game for a while now and found a hunter tower with a gun that I want my mate to have but he's far north east and its far south west. Will it disappear? Or if someone takes it, how long until something else spawns? thanks

AFAIK loot will not cycle if you are near it. I've had times like that where there was a loot pile with something in it my mate wanted and had to stand there guarding it till he came.

We've also done the same when one of us has died. We create/find a loot pile and put all their stuff in it so they can come and pick it back up again.
