I lost all my stuff?

Hi all,

I started playing DayZ a couple of days ago but I am not new to the whole Arma series.

Yesterday I was finally able to find some good loot and after approx. 2 hrs of gameplay I took a break and logged out. Today, I went back (different server) and found out that my character spawned somewhere completely different in the water. Once I got back to land, I had a look at my inventory and everything was gone. I have lost all my stuff and even my backpack disappeared.

What happened here? Did this happen to someone else too? Did I get robbed/hacked?

yeah you just respawned. Probably some sort of server error that failed to save your progress. Were there any zombies around when you logged off? it could be possible that after logging off zombies or bandits killed you if there was lag between your client and the server

No, the server was almost empty when I played yesterday and there were no other players around when I logged out. Also, I hid really well in the forest before disconnecting. The fact that I spawned somewhere else with no inventory at all and no backpack makes me believe that there was a server error and my progress was not saved. Bummer.
