Lost my character when I logged on other server?

Well, I was playing a EU server for a bit so I decided to change server and I went to US one but when I logged it told me to create new char, and I lost my old one. Is this a bug or is it normal?

EDIT: Now I logged on EU server again and my character is back. O.o

you joined a private hive server probably, I wasted several hours on one the other night - well that's not strictly true, there was a level of team work going on on it like I haven't encountered in normal servers tbh. In truth I had a great time playing there, but, it's of no benifit when playing on "proper" servers..

Excactly the same happened with me and just started yesterday. Started on a swedish server then changed server and had to start all over. Asked the same question last night but the only answer I got was that it can't be a Dayz server or not connected to the Dayz master server but how the hell do I know if I am on a original Dayz server? Using six lancher btw.
