Sparks (DayZ) 14 Posted July 8, 2012 This is something I have been thinking about lately that has to do with regards to killing others.Has anyone here ever tried to take someone alive, like a sneak up behind and say "drop the gun or Ill shoot" type of idea? You could be robbing them or just trying to make contact without letting them be in a position to shoot you.I was thinking maybe you could have them drop the rifle without turning around and equip the flashlight or something.I was wondering if this is a practical alternative to simply killing everyone or if 99% of the people will just throw caution to the wind and try to quickly turn around and kill you.I want to try it myself but have not had the chance. CaptainPlanet (DayZ) 23 Posted July 8, 2012 Have seen videos of such things.One video the guy turned around and killed one of the guys then died shortly after.Other video the guy had a flashlight while running on the coast and a group of heavily armed players robbed him for it and I believe said "package secured".Works 50/50. Depends on the type of person you rob, just like real life.Another story is a group got bored with the game, would knock people out and drag them to their base then "locked" them in with wiring fence. The people would stay for a while, or just respawn.I would find it interesting to do that with two noobs and make them fight to the death for freedom. Attempt to man an arena setup. Disgraced 1123 Posted July 8, 2012 This is more like role playing which some don't go for. This is fun stuff, but pushes beyond some peoples boundaries of game vs life. Most would just disconnect because they don't want the experience. It's not pure win like scoping n00bz from the Stary hillside. Things like this are why I have been hoping for a more role play related server. You need a group of people wanting things like this. How about the option to knock someone out? hunterkilla 67 Posted July 8, 2012 I actually spawned and hadnt found anything and went into a barn and some guy hiding in the corner went on voice and said " drop everything you have and leave" As I had just been killed I went on voice and said " I have nothing so kill me or I walk away". He didnt shoot, I left... excellent adrenline rush and made me wish that more people did that than just shoot anyone including flashlight wielding spawners... roundkickkid 0 Posted July 8, 2012 This is why I want a few role playing servers even though they probably would be tough to maintain. It adds a whole new layer of enjoyment to the game if you are willing to give it a try and have a little creativity. If I got kidnapped I would totally roll with it for the fun.
