game doesnt launch

hi. i have all of the files in the right folders and everything like that and have done the properties thing with arma 2 opertion arrowhead but when i hit launch arma 2 combined operations the black screen pops up with the files and stuff and then disapears and thats it. no boxes with checkmarks pop up or anything and nothing happens. it just pops up and then i see my steam library. i have no idea wat i have to do to play it cuz i helped one of my friends install his dayz and his game works and mine doesnt so i need some help! Thanks.
