Gareth_Sims (DayZ) 8 Posted July 8, 2012 I know a lot of you will just say a straight up NO, but with the size of this map I believe that more vehicles are needed, in my opinion it would make the game better (It is awesome as it is) but think about it with more vehicles spawning in the same condition they do now would make places on the map more populated and give people more to do, at the moment once you have good weapons and food/water to survive all there is to do is to scour the map to try to find a vehicle with more out there to repair I think that there would be more player combat with people fighting over spare parts and then with more vehicles driving around, more attempted thefts, now im not talking GTA amounts of cars just a few more here and there, that is just my two cents, please if you have an opinion on this matter reply but please not just a flat NO, just NO :P cheers. ZedsDeadBaby 2287 Posted July 8, 2012 The map is small. There are already too many vehicles.Hike up your diaper and get out there.
SylasTheOld 11 Posted July 8, 2012 Wouldn't hurt to increase the cap by 5-10 vehicle spawns.
kcbanner 8 Posted July 8, 2012 I've been playing for a while now and I have yet to see a single vehicle besides the bike. I have not seen any other vehicles in DayZ as of today.
Viles (DayZ) 93 Posted July 8, 2012 Maybe some mountain bikes or more old bikes would be good. i mean its not like its the end of the world or anything you still need to be environment friendly.
Cappy (DayZ) 6 Posted July 8, 2012 I believe car spawns are fineHowever until recently people would store/whore up all the cars they could and hide them in the out-of-bounds grass plains outside of the map, making it very difficult to locate once someone had repaired them. But now they are deleted after 24hours if they are in the flat green fringes of the map, so hopefully we should all start seeing more cars about. Gareth_Sims (DayZ) 8 Posted July 8, 2012 The map is small. There are already too many vehicles.Hike up your diaper and get out there.Oo, I have been out there, I have been to pretty much every known spawn point and spent countless hours scouring the forests for hidden repaired vehicles, and have only once found a bike... for 50 ish people running around on a 200km map i think a few more would be fine, maybe keep the parts spawns the same tho
ActionManZlt 160 Posted July 8, 2012 Apparently there's a lot of vehicles, but they're all horded by other players --- if this is true, then spawning 10 more will do nothing for the average player, coz the same hoarders will just add those extra vehicles to their collection. The dev's are addressing this with tweaking of respawn timers, and the decision to disallow off-map hoarding. Captain Q 3 Posted July 8, 2012 This is the zombie apocalypse... I feel like it hasn't been more than 3 months or so, so there *should* be a few more working order vehicles around than there are now.
kcbanner 8 Posted July 8, 2012 I think it would be interesting if seeing a truck or car drive down the road would be a regular occurance. I think being able to get around the map, albeit in an obvious way, is handy. When I die I'm usually pretty sad and I want to get back into the action. Being able to bike or drive to a few good barns and remote stores would be great.
syncmaster (DayZ) 63 Posted July 8, 2012 So true. I just saw a car with 2 people in it and its amazing how something so simple can be so epic. The moment I heard the engine coming, the second I saw them and dropped to the ground, and when I ran away looking over my shoulder every 5 seconds.. It was all just awesome. Even after I was clear of danger my hand didn't stop shaking for a couple minutes. I don't think a game has ever done that to me. I can only imagine what the people at the NW airfield were thinking when I drove my old car around on the runways blasting the horn. I hope whoever stole it has some fun and doesn't just park it behind a tree forever. Sometimes you have to do more than just survive in this game, you have to LIVE! Quit being scared to drive your car around.
Gareth_Sims (DayZ) 8 Posted July 8, 2012 I would love to see people driving around more, make it fun to try to steal/defend a car
CaptainPlanet (DayZ) 23 Posted July 8, 2012 Find vehicles with my L85 thermal function quite a bit.Not the most practical for everyone, but it works.Helicopters also offer a radar for vehicles.

bra1n 2 Posted July 8, 2012 The 24 hour timer on viechles outside map won't make that much of a difference, its not hard to log in jump in veichle, then log out again once every 24 hours lol.I think they should make it so, if you drive off the map the viechle instantly blows up. Its your faulf if you fail too see the map boundary.

But let it be known here and i bet you there will be a lot out looking for them and if your right some admin rage server closing will commence.I think vehicle balance is fine, I do not use vehicles much finding them is hard and repairing them harder as it should be. Now the vehicles are being swept of the plains keeping them within map boundaries and deleting if unused for a few days will help more in the long run. agonythy 3 Posted July 8, 2012 It's not assumption, we screenshotted their "parking lot" and posted in their forum to see the reactions^^They definately are the owners of the vehicles. It may be assumption that they altered server time to do their stuff, but i can list a number of facts that make it at least very suspicious:-The server's nighttime circle was usually between 3:30 AM - late morning (real time, CEST). After the (i think) last patch it was daytime all day long, no night at all.-One of my clanmates spotted their bus right before it got suddenly dark at around 3 PM...it was never night at this time on the server before.-7 of their clan were suddenly online, while none was before.-After a few hours (around 8 PM) daylight came back and most of them went offline again.-Between 3 PM and 8 PM (nighttime) our ingame watches kept showing different times everytime we checked - it looked like someone was playing with the server time again and again.Yes i could name and shame them - but i won't until i know that this is not legit. I'm not going to blame and shame someone who is moving inside the borders of law, even if those borders would be very weird in this case^^
Herr Robert 28 Posted July 8, 2012 There are plenty of vehicles. The problem is that douchebag clanners are hoarding everything off the map, effectively taking the vehicles out of the gameplay for 99% of the players. The 24 hour timer on viechles outside map won't make that much of a difference' date=' its not hard to log in jump in veichle, then log out again once every 24 hours lol.[hr']I think they should make it so, if you drive off the map the viechle instantly blows up. Its your faulf if you fail too see the map boundary.Exactly. All it takes is for one of the clan members to have a spare account next to their off-map vehicle park and save it on a regular basis ... I do think that it would be too harsh to have vehicles blow up instantly if they leave the boundary of the map, but a timer of 1-2 minutes would be reasonable in my opinion. Comcastle 12 Posted July 8, 2012 I think perhaps the vehicle spawns could be a little more plentiful, I'd been playing the game for a couple of months before I saw my first vehicles. Both times I found a vehicle I would drive off and shortly afterwards someone would open fire on me and destroy it. Seems the initial reaction when seeing a vehicle is open fire and stop that person having it.
