ColeTrain (DayZ) 0 Posted May 16, 2012 I tried using the self-installer but when running the game I would the following error... -- Data file too short 'c:/programfiles(x86)\steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\@dayz\addons\dayz_anim.pbo'. Expected 58313929 B, got 37746417 BAfter that error, the game would not start. My solution was going to the direct download and replacing the anim.pbo file. After doing that I got the following errors on startup..-- Addon 'dayz_code' requires addon 'CABuildingPartsAfter this, the game would load and then I would get the following error-- No entry 'bin\config.bin\CFGVehicles.Citizen1.scope'.I could then hit continue, and the game would completely load. When trying to connect to a server I get this error.-- "You cannot play/edit this mission; it is dependent on downloadable content that has been deleted.chernarus"-- After looking on google, if this error is present in the normal game, it is a problem in the addons/mission logs.I have not played any missions, or rounds of multiplayer in the game.Thank you in advance for help. Unnamed354 34 Posted May 16, 2012 You get 'CABuildingParts and the other errors from not launching combined operations I believe. But I could be wrong. This is a cause of the downloadable content error as well.
ColeTrain (DayZ) 0 Posted May 16, 2012 What do you mean? Combined Forces is the name for the bundle of the two games.....Do you mean I have to launch Arma II, even if I am playing the mod through Operation Arrowhead?

ColeTrain (DayZ) 0 Posted May 16, 2012 I don't get that option....Bought it through Steam and installed both of them today if that makes any difference...Just tried to launch Arma II and got "bad serial number given in Setup"...............
exetick 11 Posted May 16, 2012 did you start arma 2 and arma 2 OA and created a profile before you installed the mod?
ColeTrain (DayZ) 0 Posted May 16, 2012 Nope....So you should I delete all of the mod files and then create a new profile?
exetick 11 Posted May 16, 2012 I dont know if you have to remove all the mods but to be on the safe side you should do it. when you start arma 2 and arma 2 OA you install loads of stuff. Direct X,Battleeye and other things that is needed to be played.
ColeTrain (DayZ) 0 Posted May 16, 2012 I restarted Steam and was able to run Arma 2. I tried to launch Arma 2 OA and still received the error not allowing the game to start (After updating the mod files with the DayZUpdater). After removing the DayZ files, I launched OA and the game launched without problem, leading me to believe that there is possibly a problem with the files. Ivy_Mike 0 Posted May 17, 2012 I have the exact same error messages as Coletrain. I've tried uninstalling Arma II/OA/CO over and over again, tried the automated updater, followed several YouTube videos to the T, still get the same error messages. Any help would be super appreciated.
JBD1093 0 Posted May 17, 2012 Same problem here. To add a bit of info, when I go to steam to run as CO instead of OA, there is a code box that pops up and cycles through information then nothing loads up. I even opened up the folder and ran the dayz file manually and same thing happened. If I run OA instead of CO then I get the error message they are recieving. pepe_pakpipo 0 Posted May 19, 2012 I had the same problems you descibed in the first post. I bought the game over steam just to play Dayz :) 1 hour later i finally managed to join. Here's what i did:I installed arma 2 & OA over steam. extracted dayz in the right directory. Started the game... not able to join.I added -mod=@dayz -nosplash in steam. Right click on the game-> properties -> set launch optionsI deleted the @Dayz directory from the OA Folder. Then I started Arma 2, selected my profile and joined a game. Battle eye was updated automatically while joining.I did the same in OA.Now i was sure the game worked at all ;)I copied the @Dayz folder back into the OA folder.I started OA and got the errors again :(Then one thing occured to me. OA told me some files were missing and you need Arma 2 as well to play Dayz. Perhaps those files needed where Arma 2 files. Back in steam I rightclicked on Operation Arrowhead and selected "Launch Arma 2: Combined Operations" as this should have all files combined (obviously).Bingo! I joined a Server at night, saw a flare in a distance, walked over and got instantly killed by a bandit. But i was happy after all :)Hope this helps, greets
