Two item performance questions

Settle a debate for me: as of the latest version of DayZ, is there any difference between eating and staying still while the feeding-indicators are pointing up, and then starting to move only after they settle, compared to eating while you are walking? Does eating while moving lessen the amount of calories absorbed?

Secondly, for the first time in five years I found a sword today! I have waited so long for this weapon to be reintroduced to Standalone, I am over the moon. I took the opportunity to read up on the sword on the official Wiki, and it seems to do as much damage as the combat knife and hunting knife (22 dam). But I assume it swings slower than those knives. Do you guys know if the sword swings faster than a bat or splitting axe? What I mean is, apart from looking cool, is there any reason to keep the sword instead of a combat knife, for killing zombies and players?
