Bounty Hunting system (gameplay addition for metagame)

First of i'd like to say this is a great mod! Eventhough the start was quite hard i enjoy the game very much. While we (me and a friend of mine) were waiting for servers to join, we came up with an idea that may add some more fun to the "metagame" (like when you have all the equipment and good weapons and dont know what to do now).

We would call it Bounty hunting. First idea was to somehow select a player that will be randomly selected by the game that needs to be killed, but then we came to the conclusion that it may be annoying for many players since they have no good weapons to defend themselves and backstabbery would be even worse.

So we thought why not create an AI bot that has the same skin as a normal player and doesnt move like a zombie (just like a normal player, but controlled by the game). This bot could spawn in any town on the map and when the mission starts his location will be revealed to every player on the server. The bot doesnt just stay in one city, he moves to other towns, once he reaches another town the new location will be revealed to all human players again. But to last the game a bit longer, the bot wont be attacked by any zombies (i guess thats a bit obvious but i rather say it in advance).

So the cool thing about it is, that human players dont know if they are aiming at the bot or other human players once they reached the town where the bot was spotted recently (they might learn how the bot moves, but well thats up to the programming of that bot). So many hunters will deliberatly or incidentially kill other hunters. Which could result in players not even daring to hunt the bot, because they know that there will be many players arround the location of the bot.

When the bot gets killed the person that landed the last shot on him will be earned with for example points in a hunting ranklist and a rare weapon with enough ammo (like 6 clips), that can be found on the dead body of the bot.

Now it's up to you: there are two possibilities of going on with the game:

1) After a cooldown the bot will spawn again (with a new weapon or other gadgets). The cooldown might be an hour, might be more to give the players a chance to spread arround the map again and collect new stuff for the next hunt.

2) The player that killed the bot will be the next target. Here again its dependend on the players if they disconnect once they become target, or if their squad turns against them to earn points and so on... Then again the player could earn more points in the ranklist by defending his life through killing either zombies or humans. And he might get special messages for more cool weapons, ammo and other gear at location where nobody would look for them (like a small shack or summin like that). That again could increase the team/squad factor of the ppl defending him to get cool weapons aswell because he tells them. Once that player gets killed you might put another Bot round in it otherwise there will be one big playerbulk running along the server because they constantly kill each other.

I rather go for the first idea of bots spawning as target, but if you put some more thoughts into the idea with the player becoming target, it might be even more interesting for the game.

If you're going for an AI target, why not a big boss zombie with a unique/rare loot.

Or perhaps a random zombie in a particular town with a good reward.

Dont forget that they want big challenges ! And big challenges comes with big troubles before hand ;)

loot is already a reward.

People are killing just for fun and increasing k/d rateo, and you want to increment this sh*t?

The problem comes with sniper rifles.

Going for a zombie not clearly identified in the middle of other is better than a bot cleary identified.

But if there's no reward, no point for them to hunt the zombie...

That's why we thought the bot must look like a survivor. So you cant distinguish him that easy. I don't want to increase the CoD manner of players, as you have (hopefully) read the location of the bot will be revealed to all players! This means that all other area's might be much safer and less PvP will be in other area's since most of the players will be hunting for the bot.

And yes the AI bot might be a challenge since he looks just like all other survivors. You could also say ok it's a bot escorted by other bots, that will shot at you on sight. How about that?

Well you're right with the spotting, but first of you'll have to FIND a sniperrifle. Then if we make it a bot group moving arround asides the bounty bot you will only know if you killed the right bot when there is a rankingsystem or when you actually loot that body. Also i never said it's always the same guy, with a group you could change the amount of squadmembers for each 'round' and the skin of the bots.

And why do you say 'no reward'? The game provides serveral rewards the highest are rare weapons and their ammo. You could also find bloodbags or food on him. Or nightvision googles. All sort of things. If you're complaining about those rewards to be found on the bots body, i wonder why you even play the game? I'm mean it's just a mobile spawn point but that's at least something isn't it? At the moment when you search for loot you always go to the same places and never know if there are other players or not. But with this bot (and maybe his squad) you will have to think of new strategies on getting the loot from that bot. I mean you could encounter him in the woods or in a city that you never visited before. And since any other player on the server has the same informations that you have, you will have to be extra careful.

And about that idea with a zombie boss, well it's still arma 2, so if you wanna fight a giant mutant you will have to go back to fallout i guess (no offence).
