Will this system run DayZ?

Recommended Posts

Hi, and thanks in advance for any advice. I have wanted this game ever since I first loaded Wasteland on my C64.

I haven't played any new computer games in a few years and am way behind on current tech and terms. I have read the system requirements but there are more chipsets thanthose listed on the requirements.

So, would a AMD Dual-Core E-300 processor 1.30GHz be powerful enough to run Dayz well enough so I can sneak around and get killed?

The rest of the system meets recommended specs, if the integrated Radeon D 6300video i good.

Thanks again for any advice.

Well my laptop doesn't meet several of the requirements however I can still run Day Z perfectly fine. If I were you I'd download the ArmA II free game (1gb~) then run the benchmarks, I was getting 30-50fps on normal-low settings.

Goodluck!

Dual core 1.3GHz? I did not even know such a thing existed. Integrated graphics cards are never good, they are not designed for gaming so have insufficient power. Arma II is very unoptimised so even "good/powerful" PCs can suffer when running it.

I recommend that you download the "Arma II free" game and see how it is, you have nothing to lose that way. I do not think that you will have much luck, so I recommend that you buy at least a mid ranged PC or good laptop (with a non-integrated graphics card) if you do want to start playing PC games or find a cheaper hobby because your lovely new PC will be out of date after a year typically.

Hmmm, well, I'm not too worried about future games, no time to stay on the cutting edge of new games and computer tech. So, one maybe, one vote maybe not?

Thanks for the replies!

You need to know, DayZ is the mod.. ArmA II is the game. You're upgrading your PC for the game, not the mod.. unless it enhances the textures, adds more particles, etc
