Simple but maybe uber noob question

Ok guys how do i use the chat?!?! <--- main question

I lost my backpack so i restarted after seeing a guy run past me with an ALICE pack and a winchester i shot him dead so i dropped my bag and lost everything :O so i had to restart! :(

But its ok!

Chat has a few settings. Use "," and "." to cycle through the different chat channels, and "/" to say something. I'm using the blue one usually, as it's usually the most visible at present.

No problem! As a player of 'zero visibility mode' (i.e. after dark) the only players I seem to meet with are ... well ... invisible, or running by flare-light. Cheers.
