Rocket, Why do you hate the idea of donations? (AKA Kickstarter, PayPal donations)

I've been reading a lot of your posts regarding how you don't want this game to become stand-alone where a user would have to pay a small one-time fee to play, or even have a small kick-starter drive for you to be able to gain more resources to develop the game further/faster.

All I would like to know, is why you have such a strong stance against someone donating some money to you out of their thanks for you making such an amazing game for the chance to make your life a little easier or to help the mod progress?
