Silencers

I think it would be an excellent idea to add silencers to the game that you can attach to whatever gun you have, like if I have an M1911 and I find a silencer I can attach it to the gun to make it silenced, and then I can remove it and attach it to my, lets say assault rifle or sniper

Of course the silencers would be rare to find, but it would be a nice addition to this mod

It's not that simple. You can't just grab any old suppressor and whip it on any gun you find.

Some guns can't even be suppressed...

Well I understand that not every weapon can be silenced, but it would be a great addition to some guns

It's not necessarily the silencer that suppresses the weapon. It's the use of sub-sonic rounds. The silencer is more for the muzzle flash.

This should be possible with the release of ArmA3, guys, but I dont think its doable till then. In the meantime there are guns that have silencers built in, just gotta find em.

Not a realistic idea. Silencers need threaded barrels to attach a suppressor. Normal M1911s and M9s don't have one as standard. M16 and M4 type weapons need a new muzzle break to accept a suppressor.

Incorrect, the suppressor dampens the noise emitted from the discharge of a weapon. Sub sonic rounds dampen the noise from a round in flight.

It's your warning level that only you and Forum staff can see, right now you have 0% meaning you have no warnings or they have been deleted. I can see your warnings (If you have any) when possible, if you get warned too much you end up getting your posting privileges removed temporarily or banned.
