NVG "blacking out" near downed heli.

Recommended Posts

Well, every time I go loot a downed heli with my NVG on, when I go to the side with the muzzle flash effect, my NVG goes black, like if I turned it off, and when I aim somewhere else, it comes back. My guess is that it's the light of the muzzle flash that causes that. Like when I look at the sun, my vision of the world around it becomes darker.

My question is, is there a way to fix this? Like turn on/off an option? And btw, I play with everything on medium except for post process, I disabled it.

Additional info:

PC specs: i7 860, gtx 470, 4GB DDR3.

Game bought on Steam

Running the latest beta patch (94444) and the latest DayZ version (1.7.1.5)

i dont have this issue, the reason why it goes dark like that is because its simulating your eyes adjusting to the light.

like if the sun starts comming up, when you face the sun it will darken everything but the sun, but when you turn around it will be dark, and you have to wait for your eyes to re-adjust.

not a glitch, part of the game...

as far as avoiding the muzzle flash thing, just try your hardest not to look at it...

I am aware of this, and I find it perfectly normal for the sun and when you take the goggles off for your eyes to adjust.

I mean for the NV turning completely black while the effect is in your LOS is a bit surreal, I don't even need to directly look at it, one second I can see perfectly fine, the next it's completely black. Next time I find a downed helicopter at night, I will record the effect.
