There are occasions where the backpack which you drop falls through the floor and you cannot loot it, so it is always best to empty it before you drop it. There are occasions where the backpack which you drop falls through the floor and you cannot loot it, so it is always best to empty it before you drop it.I remember the first time I made the mistake of picking up an Alice pack and dropping a full pack load of mags, meat and morphine that decided to disappear from the face of Cherno before my eyes :(Def do as the previous poster said - open pack you want to pick up, tranx your stash to the new pack THEN pick it up.
