Skeffington 1 Posted July 7, 2012 Anyone who has ever watch the TV show "Survivorman" would be familiar with his motto: "You sweat, you die." If I'm not mistaken, the reason for this is because heat can transfer a lot more quicker through a liquid than through air. The mod can implement "sweat levels" which would work in the following ways:-If you run for long periods of time, your sweat level builds up. This would counteract the ability of your character to run for miles on end, and could even make sprinting a more strategic resource where you would find yourself choosing to use it only when necessary.-Sweat levels would interact directly with body temperature levels. From my experience with the mod, temperature levels have been fairly insignificant. With an increase in sweat levels, your body temperature would drop much more quickly, and with that would come the ailments of a lower body temperature, similar to how rain acts on your character.-Another way that sweat levels would fluctuate would be due to game temperature itself. I'm not sure on how well it could be implemented, maybe some sort of generic temperature depending on time of day? Similar to how rain = drop in body temperature, night time would feel different from a clear, sunny day.-Survivorman fans would take note that Les will tell you strip your articles of clothing in order to prevent sweating. In order to simulate this, you could perhaps find different articles of clothing, each taking up a different layer, with players wearing the most layers during a cold, rainy night, and then slowly stripping down and placing into your backpack your outermost layers. New skins, while of course would add to the immersion, don't have to be totally necessary, with the equipped layers adding a protection from the elements as well as adding to sweat, as calculated by the game.tl;dr: sweating would make temperature more important, sprinting more calculated, and add new items, making looting even more fun
scoffield77@gmail.com 192 Posted July 7, 2012 Interesting concept.I think running (causing sweat) would also make your water meter run dry faster. As far as temp, this could add whole new dept to game play.Have a GUI that says 'hot', 'warm', 'cold', 'freezing' for weather temp. this will effect sweat, and it's effects. plus the chances if illness when it's hot/freezing will increase. You would also be able to find a thermostat that tells the exact degrees of the weather.as far as articles of clothing, i don't think that's possible
brisos 1 Posted July 7, 2012 We need more meters and gauges. I propose a Sock Stench level. Also the well known Skidmarks & Crustiness gauge. The first would attract zombies from further away while the other would distract your aim when the itch becomes unbearable.

Skeffington 1 Posted July 7, 2012 Theres enough meters in this game.*areBlood is sort of a given, since you need some sort of health meterTemperature is currently insignificantWater and food add the survival element to the game, but after going through a couple towns I am well stocked and end up dying before I can even go through half the food and water I have. Sweat would add a variable that would require your attention throughout, most importantly during transitional periods of differing temperatures.
