What can or can't we use to modify Dayz

I would like to know what we can or can't use when we modify Dayz? I've been told we can't do anything with the p3d files. For instance, can we modify one of the building models to add a room behind one of the fake doors and make a new building.

Does this cover all of Dayz files? Arma and Dayz Public License Share Alike (ADPL-SA) | Bohemia Interactive

Some people think this prevents us from using those files because we need to use a tool to "un-binaryize" them. DayZ Public License - No Derivatives (DPL-ND)

It would be nice if legal documents would be written for the average person.
