I tried being a survivor, but that is harder than just shooting people on sight.

Personally, I would really only suggest playing as the situation dictates, if you're a sole survivor. If you need to avoid, do so. If you need to kill ditto. There's no button to press to confirm if you're a killer or non killer, so feel free to do as you wish, when you wish, at your own risk however you deem fit :P

This man speaks the truth pick and choose as you move through the game when u get some really good gear u kinda dont have a choice if u see someone u kill them or lose it all as much as i hate killing other players i have no other choice sometimes if they are unarmed i usually hook em up with some food or medical supplys you just have to make the call

friendly/unarmed/New/unsure

hostile/Armed/Shooting

it will come as you play ive scoped out so many people and haven't taken the shot because the person wasnt a threat and player killing brings me no joy

Theres no such thing as a bandit or a survivor in this game. You either avoid other players or you kill them. Being naive and trying to ally with others will just get you killed. Everyone is a survivor.

So this post isn't completely useless: I agree with everything stated here if it was said that there is no black and white. It's not choosing between being a carebear or a bandit at the start of a life, it's to do as the situation demands/what you think is right in accordance to it.
