Game opening as a background task

I uninstalled the game around the start of the year and then wanted to play it again and after I re-installed it started the game as a background task. I've tried uninstalling the game (It said that there was files in the directory when there wasn't anything), deleting the files related to DayZ, and re-installed steam to try and fix the issue but it still happens. For some reason the experimental server main menu loads fine
