I mean COME ON people. All I read is "oh my god a guy shot me, take out sniper rifles now!" You complain about overpowered sniper rifles. What is this, Call of Duty? No, it's not. This is DayZ, a zombie apocalypse simulation mod.

On top of that, I doubt that rocket will ever take out sniper rifles unless he has a VERY good reason, not just that too many people are getting sniped because they don't know how to duck behind cover properly.

This is how humans behave. You either get used to it, or leave.

Now stop spamming the DayZ General Discussion with this nonsense, and put it somewhere like the suggestions subforum. Also, use the search bar once in a while. Instead of spamming us with your own opinion, how about putting your opinion on one of the already created complaining threads?

While I agree that there are many trashy and duplicate threads made in General Discussion, there are also a lot of threads that fit between Suggestions and General Discussion. And according to you no one should post on the forums? If enough people mobilize or at least discuss an issue with valid reasoning, it is going to be heard. Now that does not necessarily mean that it will be implemented, as that is up to Rocket. But it obviously, increases the chance that it could happen.

Would like to understand what YOU think the forums are used for..

The only time I've ever been sniped at distance was on my very first life in DayZ back in the 1.6 or 1.7 days. I foolishly decided to loot a dead player body sitting out in the open with blood pouring out of it. Stupidest mistake of my character's short life. As soon as I got to the looting screen I started taking body shots. I limped behind cover and bandaged myself at about 1800 blood. I stalked out of there, but proceeded to die at the hands of a zombie while unconscious.

Any other player caused death I've had has either been in close quarters or by someone who I could see clearly. Why is that? Is it luck? Maybe, but I have a feeling it has more to do with how I move. I always try to move in trees or bushes. Anything that will make it hard to track me, get a bead on me, or otherwise develop a good sight picture. I avoid spending time in the open too long, usually staying low if I do. Never even come under sniper fire otherwise. I've been in the vicinity of snipers before, usually around Cherno and Electro if I have to go there, but I usually hear the sniper picking off some other poor soul and take the proper precautions.

This game has 400,000 unique players, many of whom are on these forums. With so many people voicing their opinions, suggestions, etc. very few will ever have their ideas implemented. As a result, you can do little to change the world of DayZ. You have to make changes to yourself. You must adapt to DayZ and its mechanics to survive, not the other way around.

Am I saying "don't contribute to the forums?" and "don't post new suggestions?" no. All I'm saying is be prepared for the high likelyhood that the game will not change the way you want it to.

What I think that this forum that we're in right here is for is to share some stories. Tell about how in example the guy who shot the man out of the blue van. Some funny stuff like the axe murdering guys. About how you got revenge on that guy sitting up in the hills who's been shooting some recently spawned by cutting him up with a hatchet.

i was on the yellow crane with a hatchet waiting for my guys,i got down and we took fire from guys camping in the city with snipers,we took cover and bandaged .We waited a bit and then we moved with caution and survived it.Bitching about getting killed by a "camper" is just stupid

Umm, I've passed up many sniper rifles. I've never fired one in dayz. Unless your only purpose in game is pvp, they are useless. Most assault rifles have plenty of range and better close quarters performance.

That's what the Bandit Campfire, and Survivor HQ sub forums are for. General discussion/Suggestions are used for circulating ideas/things that need changes. Changes ARE made from a majority view on the game if it is legit.

Like I said before, there still are TOO many duplicate threads and useless rants. But that's how it is going to be when the player base is this large. As there is always a percentage of idiots among the players.
