should I be worried about any viruses?

I’m just wondering if there are any security risks by playing community servers with mods. Can these mods Install any malware on my computer or is it safe to Install them? Recently there has been fake offical servers and I’m worried that these fake servers can have any malware in them. I love the game otherwise but this is still worrying me.
