adjusting attachment proxy locations?

back in version 1.21 i spotted this in the patch notes,

"Added: Ability to set proxy (inventory slot) offset per item in item config"

is this just for inventory slots on the players body, or can i use this to adjust the location of weapon attachments that are slightly off? if so, does anyone know how to use it or have an example that i can pull from? ive tried slinging crap at the wall until something sticks, but so far i havent figured it out 🤷‍♂️
