E-Slayer 0 Posted December 22, 2023 Getting 0x00040031 (Login Timed Out. (WaitAuthPlayerLoginState)) on both Steam accounts to any server, including a LAN server I setup. The LAN server attempt will even prompt for the password before the error. I have tried a bunch of things... Disabling Discord. Running Discord as admin. Running Steam as admin. Turning off all other system tray related/unnecessary software. Disabling nVidia overlay. Temporarily disabling Windows Defender real-time scanning. Signing out of Steam and back in after a reboot. Basically everything I could find via Google searches and then some more. Any ideas before I refund both copies? DrzZzZt 10 Posted December 22, 2023 Sadly, this is a fairly old problem, happens at least since 2022 but keeps reappearing from time to time. Today I had no luck with the common workarounds, shutting down overlays, running launcher(s) or Steam as admin etc. I played normally yesterday, today got a Steam Cloud state difference warning and steam asked to choose between the last known good cloud save and a more recent one on the local machine. I chose the cloud state from yesterday, after that the 0x00040031 appeared.Seems to affect a lot of people, all official servers are mostly empty. I hope they look into this. It´s ten years old and still in active development, gets better every update. In 2023 we had four of those. Dont miss out cause of that hiccup - we´ve seen whorse times in DayZ. Way.
