How to run Dayz in widescreen?

Recommended Posts

Which version of the game did you purchase? STEAM or RETAIL or MIXED:

Steam

*Are you running an Arma 2 OA beta patch? If so what version?:

1.7.1.5

*Which method are you using to launch the game? I.E Sixupdater/steam/batch file:

Arma II launcher from Spirited Machines

*What is the Error/Problem you're having? Please provide screenshots if possible:

I use a widescreen LCD TV as my monitor. I've set the Interface and 3d Resolution in-game to the equivalent I'm running on my desktop which is 1360 X 768.

However, the game doesn't fill the whole screen. There is about 6 inches on either side that are black. I'd like to use the whole monitor if I can.

Previously I was running in windowed mode because I thought the game would run better and I didn't see resolutions that matched the settings I need for this LCD TV. Other resolutions will not work on this TV so I have to have 1360X780.

I started messing with stuff because my performance has always been choppy. I followed some intructions and advice including downloading Ramdisk (which didn't seem to help), but changing the resolution really made things better.

Except that now the game doesn't fill the monitor. It's a 40 inch monitor so I kinda like to get the most out of it.

*Your PC specs: Intel Core i3-2100 CPU @ 3.10 GHz 3.10GHz

AMD GPU?

- Open Catalyst Control Center

- Open "My Digital Flat Panels"

- Select "Scaling Options"

- Set the slider all the way to the right (0% overscan)

If you have an NVidia GPU, I'm sure there is a similar setting somewhere.

I have a NVidia GPU and while there are settings to control widescreen on the desktop there appears nothing that will control the widescreen of a game.

When I am on the Web or doing other things I have a full wide screen. It's only during this game that the picture is more "square".

Try running the game at your monitor's native resolution. It may run poorly, but seeing how it displays will help diagnose the issue.
